Hello,
I am a registered nurse and I work at the local health department in Salyersville, Ky. and I was wondering if there were to be a place that could donate baby items to us. We are in a small county and have a visitation program Called “HANDS” which means health access nurturing development services. The vision of HANDS is “Every child is wanted and cared for in a stimulating and nurturing environment.” Goals: Positive pregnancy outcomes, Optimal child growth and development, Children live in healthy, safe homes, and Families make decisions that enhance long term independence over meeting short term or immediate needs. It is a wonderful program but we do not have enough money to buy incentives for when we see them weekly. We do give them a $10.00 gift card to Wal-Mart for keeping 4 visits in one month. The program involves a lot of hard work for the home worker and we encourage them to do things to make their babies smart and have empathy for others. We used to be able to give diapers, etc., but with major cuts to our programs at health departments, we cannot do that. The program is for anyone that meets certain criteria and salary is not a factor in the program. Please let me know if there is help somewhere and I definitely would appreciate it.
Thank you,
